About Us

Created By Parents

The Neurodiverse Family Support Network is a positive focused inclusive organisation, offering support, education and fostering peer to peer relationships for neurodiverse children and young people aged 2-25, and their families. Our mission is to create a future where Neurodiversity is valued and unique minds are celebrated. We celebrate and embrace the unique strengths that each individual who accesses our service brings to our community, whilst also addressing any challenges that they may face with an empathetic and supportive approach. We offer a safe and welcoming space where families can thrive!

As a team we are dedicated to empowering and educating, to build a world where neurodiversity is not only accepted but celebrated. We offer a range fun yet therapeutic age-appropriate activities for children and young people, Early Years, primary, secondary and our Moving on group for 16-25. We facilitate a variety of courses, 1 on 1 advice and guidance sessions and coffee mornings for the parent/carers support each other. We also have an online community of over 10,000 members!

Our History

Autism in motion was started back in 2015 by a small group of parents all who have Neurodiverse families. We were frustrated by the lack of support in the area for families like our own and realised that if we were struggling, then others would be too!

We started by setting up a small coffee mornings, for parents and carers to come together for support and share knowledge and experiences in an understanding environment.  We organised social event for the families such as Fire station trips, going out for meals together and our coach trips to Chester zoo and Gulliver’s world were legendary! This developed the foundation of what autism in motion was built upon.

After running for just over five years we acquired our very own building which means we have a lot more scope to expand upon our sessions offered. We offered social activities including days out, allowing opportunities for parents without confidence or support to attend as part of a group. This allows friendships to be formed not only with the children but with the parent/carers reducing social isolation, whilst building on the children’s social skills.

Over the years we have seen our children grow and develop and achieve thing we never dreamed possible, they have built strong friendships and have encouraged each other to flourish in our safe inclusive environment. We have become our own family, supporting loving and accepting each other’s quirks.  #weloveourautismfamily
