About Us

Created By Parents

Neurodiverse Family Support  is a parent led organisation, we provide support, advice and guidance for families of children with neurological conditions mainly Autism and ADHD.

We do this through facilitating courses, advice sessions and coffee mornings for the parent/carers to attend. We like to take a holistic family approach and include siblings in all our activities/days out.

We offer social activities including days out, allowing opportunities for parents without confidence or support to attend as part of a group. This allows friendships to be formed not only with the children but with the parent/carers reducing social isolation, whilst building on the children’s social skills.

A Safe Space For Children

We have been running for just over five years and have acquired our very own building which means we have a lot more scope to expand upon our sessions offered.

Autism in motion was created by two patents of children with special needs as we struggled to find the support that we needed for ourselves  our families. We realised that if we struggled, we wouldn’t be the only ones. As much of the parent support that is available now it wasn’t available then.

We set up a small coffee morning, to enable parents to come together and share knowledge and experiences in an understanding environment.  We organised social event for the family such as Fire station trips, Franky and benny visits and Gullivers world, this developed the foundation of what autism in motion has been built upon.

Autism in motion has grown year on year and we have developed close relationships with not only our families but with other organisations such as ADHD Foundation, YPAS, MYA, Cobalt, Tourus and other local community organisations.

Over the years we have seen our children grow and develop and achieve thing we never dreamed possible, they have built strong friendships and have encouraged each other to flourish in our safe inclusive environment. We have become our own family, supporting loving and accepting each others quirks.

Our History

Demonstrated by living our core values: compassion, growth, courage to act, responsibility, belonging, curiosity. You can see them cultivated in every experience for students, families and staff.

Community is everything. It’s who we are and how things get done. Everyone here is motivated by a deep commitment to making sure each child and family feels welcome and included. When everyone feels like they belong, we are stronger and smarter together. We’re a community driven to make the world a better place—starting in our own backyard.
